The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning

Classes are underway now, and anyone registered for mine should have received their syllabus and schedule by now. Reaction papers on the first few weeks' readings are due in class on Friday. My policy regarding late work is the same as always.

Kendo club has been meeting through the summer, but if anyone's interested in joining for the fall, they should let me know. I'll be available after regular practice if anyone wants to spar with me personally.

This is the moment where we have to ask ourselves:

Is sheltering her worth the trouble? We're at a very real risk of making enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D., which could compromise the safety of a number of people here.

Perhaps we've let her borrow enough time. She got herself into this mess willingly, after all.

[He'll be the absolute last to suggest doing anything against Xavier's orders or behind his back -- but he's more than willing, at this point, to question the decisions that have been made.]

To any interested in improving their self-defense skills outside of regular classes: kendo club meets in the gymnasium on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings.

[There's a slight pause, and the click of a lighter.]

At the risk of inviting trouble, I'm entertaining the idea of hosting a history field trip or two over the summer, for those of you who remain on campus. If you have any suggestions that aren't terrible, now's the time to make them.

I suppose that an introduction is in order, for those I haven't seen in classes already.

[It's been some years since it's really been necessary, but now that they're taking new students in earnest now...]

My name is Toshizou Hijikata. I'll be teaching World History to those of you not in Ms. Williams' classes -- speaking broadly, my classes have an earlier focus than hers, though there's a fair amount of overlap.

On that subject, for those in my classes: this is a reminder that your first writing assignment -- and your proposal for your term paper, for those in courses which require one -- are due on my door by this Friday at 6 PM. 10% will be deducted for every hour that it's late. A further 5% will be deducted for complaining about it without an actual reason.

The Kendo Club will be meeting on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays as planned; the time has been set tentatively at 7-9 PM. Any students interested in further private instruction may contact be to discuss the matter.
