[The fact that this is a video post is largely because Souji thinks it’s a great idea, which is why he’s fumbling with turning the camera on, and why he’s the one looking in no way awkward.

Melinda is the other person.

Souji meanwhile waves happily at the camera now he’s flopped down next to her.]

So! There were a couple of things we wanted to bring up. The first is kind of to the teachers…

[He gives Melinda a gentle nudge, as if to see if he can prompt her into speaking. Melinda nudges him back, though not quite as gently, before giving a halfhearted wave.]

Yeah, um, we’re not really ready for the whole X-Men teams in training thing, [Understatement of the year.] but we’d still like to spar, and stuff, and we think it might be good if we had some kind of teacher there. When we do. [She trails off and looks over at Souji. She’s managed some talking, and would very much prefer to be put out of her misery right about now.

Souji takes the hint, certainly not wanting to push Melinda too hard, so he nods and picks up from there.]

Also, I guess we’re not really club people, but we thought maybe we could make an Anti-Club Club? That’s to say, we’ll meet regularly and hang out without actually being a club, and if anyone wants to join they can not be in a club with us too! [This is the most backwards idea in the history of ever, but he doesn't seem to notice.]

So, there will be board games and video games and crafty stuff in the common room closest to the girl dormitories on Tuesdays, and probably Saturdays too. [A beat.] But no pillow fights. Or any throwing of anything at all, actually. [Melinda emphasizes this point by shaking her head, managing to look horrified and on the verge of laughing at the same time.]

Because you don’t want me to kill you, right? Okay, bye~!

Hi. For those who don't know my name is Melinda. I'm looking for volunteers for an art project I'm working on about mutations.
Basically I need models.
I'm primarily looking for those who have a visible mutation or whose powers turn pretty visible when used, but I would like a few with more discreet mutations as well. As long as I can figure out how to illustrate it, it's fine so if you're not sure if you fit it won't hurt to ask if you're interested.
And if you're interested but don't want your identity to be known that can be arranged.
Thats all for now. Have a nice day.

Philosophical question: If someone was born in 1998 but spent the last five years as a human popsicle, does that make them 15 or 20 years old? Because I don't think I'm ready to be considered an adult just yet. :/

And even if I was I'm not sure if the hassle of being accused of having a fake ID would be worth it. On the other hand I would be allowed to drive and would have more independence from my parents. So on second thought...

[The video opens on a woman sitting against a wall, a little too ramrod straight to be comfortable and her smile betrays her nerves. She was never very good at this, having made a few mistakes on filtering and the wrong thing to say as a teenager. These things stick with her a little too intently]

Since this seems to be the thing to do, I suppose I'll introduce myself. I'm Madeline Williams, I went to this school for...[She counts] nearly four years, and I'll be teaching well--what I'm calling Modern World History. I know a lot of students never get into the last hundred years or so in history classes but I think that's some of the more fascinating events. We probably won't make it to the 80s or 90s to be honest and it will include more than just Europe and North America. A lot of things happened outside those parts of the world.

[She claps her hands] And I know it's a little unorthodox, but I'm going to try offering ice skating lessons at some point down the line. Perhaps not right away but there is a rink nearby. Or there was.

[Now she looks a little concerned] It has been five years. We-Well I'll just have to check and see if they're still around. I hope to see you all in class, thank you for your time.

[This broadcast brought to you from the inside of the counselor's offices:]

Good afternoon. I hope everyone's first week of school has treated them well.

[Caelius has a naturally soft voice, and he's still not used to addressing students from the position of a faculty member; someone listening closely might hear him clear his throat before he continues, making sure the rest of his message is delivered with the correct amount of firmness in his tone.]

My name is Caelius Demetriou, for those of you that are new to the school this year. As one of your guidance counselors, I'd like to take a moment to remind all of you that if you feel there's a problem with your schedule, it's best to fix that sooner rather than later. Feeling like you've been placed in the wrong level of classes, wanting to switch this elective to that one... Any of that sort of thing, you need to talk to one of us to do so. Making a request is simple, so don't feel shy.

Now, that said— Everyone here has their own circumstances. And I know, for some of you, those circumstances aren't easy. Whatever that means for you, please remember that you aren't alone in how you feel, and that you don't have to go through feeling that way alone. If something is troubling you, whether it's big or small, there's no shame in talking to one of us counselors about it. [A half-joking levity creeps into his tone as he adds:] I can say with certainty that I went through being a teenager and a mutant at the same time, at least, so I know a little bit about it.

[And, well, if it's the kind of issue that causes problems, they might have to talk with him whether they want to or not, but he doesn't say that. It makes it sound too much like a punishment. His tone goes right back to earnest as he wraps the message up.]

In any case, just know that I leave my door open, so anyone is welcome to stop by whenever they have time. I hope you all have a good weekend.

Am I the only one who thinks there is something seriously wrong here? I mean look around. This school is practically a movie set - big stately manor on beautiful grounds with all the facilities a school full of teenagers could want. And of course everyone's so nice and friendly and they just want to help us mutants learn to use and control our powers...

I mean do you all watch movies? It's like the perfect setup for a horror flick. One of those where they discover that the seemingly perfect location is just cover for some sort of mad scientist's twisted experiments. With us as the victims, not the heroes.

I'm sure some of you are going to think I'm overreacting. But I've got one question. This is supposedly a super-swank, upscale private school. Even without the whole mutant thing, it should be costing thousands of dollars to go here. So how come this little chica from the inner city of San Fran's here? 'Cause my folks sure as shit can't pay.

And don't say it's out of the goodness of their hearts. Ain't nobody actually works like that.
