A few announcements.

Kendo practice this weekend is canceled. Something that I need to do came up.

The deadlines for history papers, on the other hand, haven't changed, and they aren't about to, so don't hold your breath.

...Whoever put catnip in my desk drawer had better hope I never find out they're responsible. Mikan shouldn't have things like that.

[Yes, the cat has a name now. Yes, that means Hijikata has given up on pretending she's not his damn problem -- which means no one had better mess with her from now on.]

[Well, it's not like he hasn't half expected a message like this, ever since he left that letter and the camellias in Hijikata's room. He's been doing his very best, of course, to pretend that never happened, hoping to give Hijikata some space and time to think it over.

He's honestly not sure how to feel about the silence finally being broken. It doesn't really mean anything, since Hijikata is not the kind of person who would simply ignore it even if he doesn't feel the same at all - no matter how much Souji might wish it. He's not sure what rejection will feel like, but the way his heart feels like it's being squeezed at the thought does not exactly inspire confidence.

Still, he does his best to keep smiling as he replies, because either way he doesn't need to make this any harder than it is for Hijikata.]

[Even before Souji sent the flowers, he supposes it's always been inevitable. He was going to have to break their silence on this sooner or later.]

[For Souji, it has been awfully confusing to come to terms with his feelings, and he still isn't quite sure what to do with them or why they have happened at all. But that nice girl, Meulin, had been right. He needs to be brave about this.]
