[Orin is still finishing one of her signature twin braids as she starts the video feed, smiling brightly into the camera.]

Heya! I've been settlin' in pretty nice, so I thought now's the time to say hello. Don't want it to get too awkward, right? I'm not the wallflower type so I'd really rather not put off introductions any longer...

So! Introduce yourselves to me. I was promised I'd meet a lot of real interesting people here, so make your cases, 'kay? It's not fun if you're all just a bunch of boring sad sacks.

[An idea seems to occur to her all of a sudden, and her tone suddenly becomes a little more urgent.]

By the way, is there like...a gardening or architecture club, or somethin'? A girl's gotta know. For reasons.

[Reasons like knowing if there's a club that wouldn't mind lending out a wheelbarrow or something similar out to her.]

[Oh look, it's Ms. Suzuki, the Economics teacher, right where you'd expect her, in...

Okay, no, that clearly isn't her office. For one thing, she's not allowed to create a pall of smoke like the one just above her head on school grounds. For another, the empty glass in her hand has one of those perfectly spherical balls of ice in it, visible just at the bottom of the screen. It's not even 5pm.]

I'd just like to remind all the 10th and 12 graders in my class that you papers are indeed due before the break next week, so if you're planning not to come in at all that week, you have to hand it in this Friday. No handing it in late without excruciating circumstances. [Oh this silly Japanese woman clearly mean "extenuating", right? Right?]

As for my 11th graders, you can thank one of your classmates: I've agreed to move the quiz to Friday for similar reasons. [...on what conditions?] The reading schedule won't change though, so if you don't show up next week, either take your books wherever you're going or be ready to do plenty of catching up when you get back.

[She pauses, looking down at her glass, using a finger to stir that ice ball around a couple times before looking back at the camera.]

I suppose that's all, really. I'll be holding normal office hours the days we have class. They may even be in my office.

[Smiling, she reaches over and turns the feed off]
