1st dream - [Video]
[When Giselle flips on the video feed, she has a bright smile on her face and some freshly cut flowers in hand.]
Hello there, everyone! Welcome to our newest students and welcome back to everyone that was in stasis.
[She’s still not sure she completely understands how that works, but what she does understand is that years have passed without them. That’s got to feel strange, so she wants to do her best to be reassuring.]
My name is Giselle, and it’s lovely to meet all of you. It’s also nice to see old friends again. Oh, I’m sure we’ll have a wonderful year!
[There’s no hint of sarcasm in her voice, either. She genuinely sounds that optimistic about the future.]
If anyone new would like a tour around campus, I’d be happy to show you around. I know I was a little nervous when I started here. Everyone was very kind so don’t worry. This school can be a little unorthodox, but also a lot of fun.
[For a moment, she considers what else to mention. Things that students might want to know about beyond the basics.]
There are a lot of clubs here, so you’re sure to find something to keep yourself busy with. And if there isn’t a club for something you enjoy yet, then the teachers here are very supportive to students who want to get one started.
[She waves.]
Well, that’s it for now! Oh! Also, I have some romance books I’d be happy to loan out if anyone is looking for something new to read. Bye for now!

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Giselle. I'm Alric, a new student. Alric Caelegart. I arrived a day early, myself, to begin learning my way around the grounds, and I've plenty of reading material of my own, but the kindness of your offers is certainly appreciated.
I'll be looking forward to the opportunity to get to know yourself and the others better.

I hope you're settling in well, Alric. What grade are you starting in?

[He smiles to himself a little at that.]
But, yes, thank you, I've met a few interesting and quite pleasant people here, already. You are, ah... a returning student, then, or...?

[There's a slight pause.]
By esoteric training, do you mean training with powers?

[He smiles somewhat more sheepishly, there.]

Voice
*She doesn't sound insulting, just... surprised, and cynical. Very superly cynical.*
You sound perfectly sincere, but I honestly cannot think of a single way you can go to a school that was destroyed by an event so powerful it warped time and be this optimistic.
Voice
[She has to wonder what brought that on.]
I just believe in the importance of keeping a positive outlook.

In fact, there's a hint of a chuckle in his voice when he clicks to reply, albeit a mild, good-natured one:]
How long have you been at the Institute, Giselle?
[She sounds pretty confident about life at the school, but he's sure he'd remember if she'd been present for the Sentinel assault.]

voice;
[Maybe? He's not sure how long it took the Professor to get the Institute reconstructed after the whole robo-stomping episode and how much time was devoted to other kinds of recovery.
Somewhat wistful, now:]
It's nice to think that the school still had a place for us even during that.

[Then her control slipped in a major way...]

[For all that her inexplicable matchmaking nudging around him and Feliks could sometimes get awkward, as far as Fai is concerned, it's legitimately impossible not to like Giselle. It would be like kicking a whole kennel full of puppies. Or roaches or whatever other creatures might have gotten accidentally roped in by her powers.]
Oh, and I got you some new romance novels while travelling about. Well, obviously not in the middle of the jungle, but when I had a layover in South Africa.
Video;
[Her smile brightens even more.]
Thank you so much! That was very kind of you. What are they like? Have you read them yet?
Video;
He flops on his back, watching the camera upside down but still wearing a huge grin.]
I have! It was a very long layover, and I can't imagine a better way of spending my time. [He has never been particularly bookish, but come on, romance novels are pretty often basically chick flicks in book form.] Three of them are just really cute and feelgoodsy, one is kind of ridiculous and pretentious but fun, two will make you cry rivers - but they end happily, of course - and one is unbelievably raunchy. I'm surprised the pages didn't catch fire.

[Mid-teens and up is one thing. She might be fairly innocent, but she is also a telepath. No matter how much she might try to keep out of people's heads unless she has permission to be there, she hasn't missed that people think about it more than she would have guessed.]
They sound wonderful, though.
