[When Giselle flips on the video feed, she has a bright smile on her face and some freshly cut flowers in hand.]

Hello there, everyone! Welcome to our newest students and welcome back to everyone that was in stasis.

[She’s still not sure she completely understands how that works, but what she does understand is that years have passed without them. That’s got to feel strange, so she wants to do her best to be reassuring.]

My name is Giselle, and it’s lovely to meet all of you. It’s also nice to see old friends again. Oh, I’m sure we’ll have a wonderful year!

[There’s no hint of sarcasm in her voice, either. She genuinely sounds that optimistic about the future.]

If anyone new would like a tour around campus, I’d be happy to show you around. I know I was a little nervous when I started here. Everyone was very kind so don’t worry. This school can be a little unorthodox, but also a lot of fun.

[For a moment, she considers what else to mention. Things that students might want to know about beyond the basics.]

There are a lot of clubs here, so you’re sure to find something to keep yourself busy with. And if there isn’t a club for something you enjoy yet, then the teachers here are very supportive to students who want to get one started.

[She waves.]

Oh, about two and a half years now. It's really been a wonderful experience. I've learned a lot about my powers in the time I've been here.

So, you were here while everything was being rebuilt?

[Maybe? He's not sure how long it took the Professor to get the Institute reconstructed after the whole robo-stomping episode and how much time was devoted to other kinds of recovery.

Somewhat wistful, now:]

It's nice to think that the school still had a place for us even during that.

The majority of things were back in place by the time I got here. My parents were reluctant to send me here at first because of everything that had happened and my mother taught me some meditation exercises that helped me keep my powers under control for a while.

[Then her control slipped in a major way...]

Oh. That makes sense.

But the Professor and the rest of the staff were still giving lessons, once you came here? [Shindou supposes they must have been? Some of the other students he knew had graduated, after all, even with the school not officially open.] Sorry...it's hard to get a sense for what things were like after the Sentinels. Almost everyone I've spoken to was here before that, or else they're brand new.

They were. There were still young mutants who needed help, even if the school wasn't officially open. Emma Frost opened her own all girls' school, but has been transferring young mutants at her school to the Xavier Institute.
