[Hey, look, it's everyone's favorite slightly hyperactive nerdy girl. She waves at the camera.] Sooo, I hear there's a club week coming up and I've got the best idea for a club: a club for girls interested in science and technology and stuff! [A pause as she rubs her chin. She snaps her fingers suddenly.] STEM, that's the word! A STEM club for girls only -- no boys allowed. You guys got plenty of stuff already.

I'm not that great at organizing, so I might need some help...but interested ladies should totally join. We can be nerdy and it looks good for the school. It's a win-win!

[She clears her throat and looks to one side.]

Oh, and if any of you are interested, you should totally subscribe to my podcast. It's free and you get to hear about my scientific endeavors and maaaybe even a little something about my top-secret project. You just gotta listen to find out, though!

I don't understand the point of a girls only club

Because STEM, as a field, is a freakin' sausage-fest boys club. It's hard for women to be taken seriously or noticed, even when they're better at what they do than the men they're surrounded by! It's also really alienating for girls that want to get into these fields because they're dominated by men and ladies get laughed at for trying to get in. Girls supporting girls in this shit is the best. If you don't get it now, then that's not my problem [She's almost yelling now.]

[ He understands unwarranted alienation and ridicule for an aspect of genetics outside his control, at least. Not quite the same, but enough that he can understand her frustration and anger. Whether he's actually sympathetic is another matter entirely. ]

[ He's not sure that forming a girls only STEM club would necessarily do much to help, given that it would just paint a larger target for people to sneer at, but he doesn't want to get yelled at again so he keeps that thought to himself for now.

[He feels a little left out but a) he can totally sympathize with that feeling and is glad she's creating a space like that for girls and b) he totally isn't actually that interested in STEM.

Hell yeah, I do! [She holds up her obviously not real arm and wiggles her fingers.] I made this because all the other prosthetics they had sucked!

I guess "my powers relate to that stuff" makes me count as automatically "interested" regardless.

Like what powers? I mean, you don't have to join if you don't want to. I'm not gonna make you join at gunpoint because something is kinda related to it. That'd be messed up, huh?

I think a STEM club for girls sounds like a great idea. This school has a pretty good track record of encouraging students regardless of gender, but it's a bit silly of us to assume that we're completely cut off from the influences of society in here.

[Silly and dangerous. Also, he really likes the attitude.]

I can definitely understand if you want a woman as your official sponsor, but I can at the very least offer up my classroom and any technical equipment you girls might need or want.

Glad to hear it~. I'd hate to send the GSD Union to glitter you to death. [He laughs quietly, shrugging.] But it really is good to see such enthusiasm for science here. It's gone a bit too quiet, so this school is a bit overdue some explosions.

Proooobably not. I don't think the higher ups would be okay with officially sanctioning that for students. Too many liability issues.
