Because STEM, as a field, is a freakin' sausage-fest boys club. It's hard for women to be taken seriously or noticed, even when they're better at what they do than the men they're surrounded by! It's also really alienating for girls that want to get into these fields because they're dominated by men and ladies get laughed at for trying to get in. Girls supporting girls in this shit is the best. If you don't get it now, then that's not my problem [She's almost yelling now.]
