Um...hello.
[Shulk looks a little...beat. He had just come from a workout and was currently in his lab, filming this exact post. Despite the exercise routine, he had his own knowledge to keep up with. Which meant experimenting and finding the answer to quite a few questions.]
As you know, we're in the summer period, which means lessons are on a hold. If any of you planned on signing up for Shop class when the school year starts with me, I'll be offering a bonus course this summer, which you can apply your earnings towards the actual year. Please feel free to ask about it or visit me in the lab at anytime to find out the details.
And, ah, for those of you with questions about your abilities and how to more effectively use them, I would be more than happy to address those questions. In my area of expertise, I'm more than capable of helping you become more effective at what you do. Again, just ask now or visit when you have the chance.
[And as promised, Shulk IS working in the lab. Mostly, at the moment, trying to line up a laser with a crystal of his design, hoping to see any type of effect. Experimentation was certainly a process. And yes, he was wearing something like a welding mask to protect his eyes. AND YES, he had a cup of coffee sitting on the table nearby. He should also be told to go to bed at appropriate times.]

He clipped his pen to his notebook and walked over to Viti.
"Open your eyes for a moment."
no subject
"Yeah I forgot to tell you about this thing where I sprout out facts. I had a handle on it before I cam here, but for some reason it's been happening again. It's how I know astrophysicist Chris Hirata completed collage when he was 12."
He fell back in his chair.
"Any theories yet?"
no subject
He was trying to be very encouraging. There was definitely a method to the madness here, Shulk just had to find it out.
"We're going to head over to the Danger Room. I have something of an idea. But while we're going, I need you to know one thing. I don't want you to have a handle on it while we're working."
He scoots over to the door to open it up. "And theories will have to wait for the time being. If I tell you anything now, it may affect the test."
no subject
Viti's pupils shifted down and to the left when he heard this.
"Oh yes that room with all the...danger. I heard of that room." Viti shuttered, but hopped out of his seat to follow the professor, even if he walked with drooped shoulders.
Out of nowhere he blurted out, "Hey, did you know that black holes are actually some of the brightest objects in the galaxy? Material produces enormous amounts of heat and energy as it gets compress before it enters the event horizon.
Another fact I got from not having a handle on my powers."
no subject
As dense as he normally was, he could pick up on those kinds of cue.
"I did know, actually! While I have a doctorate in Applied Physics, my scientific area of choice was light."
no subject
As directed, he made his way into the danger room.
He quivered as he descended into the basement, for it was a sever change to go from wooden floors, and walls, reflecting the sun, to hall ways of cold, sterile, steel that shimmered in the artificial, light.
The doors to the danger room, slid open, making a soft veoom sound. When Viti finally entered the danger room his body went stiff, and his eyes wandered over its hollowed walls. He felt something sacred in it.

Using a voice function would mess things up so Shulk walks over to a console and starts punching in some commands. When he was done, a holographic image of a giraffe formed in the room.
"Tell me what you're thinking of now."
no subject
"Holographs are light fields of an object that can be reconstructed after dissipation, that was due to the absence of the original object."

If this is inaccurate please give me a chance to edit before replaying
its cool, hadn't set a date at all
Mindless tapping for a few minutes before he decides to bury things back into work again. Time time, there's a goat.
no subject
A hologram of a goat appears before him, and with a sigh and trepidation he speaks.
"Cambridge's youngest graduate of class 2017 was 16 years old."
(OOC. As I recall this thread takes place in 2019)

He kind of had to break his concentration for a moment. "The last two things you've stated were about myself."
no subject
Viti's muscles were tensed, his angry eyes focused on the floor, but his eyes started to shift, as the gears of his mind started to turn, and revelations began to form, but then...pride.
He picked his head up... "I don't relate to people. Show me another hologram. I will get it right this time!"
no subject
"Are you sure? What's so miserable about it? And what kind of disability are you talking about?"
no subject
"It's called Non-verbal learning disability. It hinders my ability to understand non-verbal communication, which is like 65% of all communication. Basically if information doesn't come to me as rational verbal, or numerical data, I don't understand it.
Humans tend to be very irrational, so I don't understand why they suddenly try to strangle me, shout insults at me, or turn into dragons and try to burn me alive."
Viti lowered his arms to his side, and looked up to Professor Shulk. "This why I can honestly say I wasn't focused on you..." Suddenly Viti's eyes became shifty, for what he had just said was the story of his life, but he also knew that his beliefs were being contradicted by data.
He scratched the back of his neck nervously. "...or at least, I wasn't doing so on purpose."
no subject
"And that makes sense. What if I could help distill that information for you? If I worked on something like that, do you think that perhaps you would find it easier to pull the thoughts you need out of the void?"

As Shulk turned away Viti took a deep breath reached out and said,
"Wait. Before you go. I was wrong. My power has been focused on you all along. Almost all the facts I uttered were about light, which is your specialty. The others were about your life."
Viti sighed, and looked away, but then found the strength to look up again.
"I know, it's a contradiction, but for some reason, even though my disability makes it hard to interact with people, my power was focused on you, and now that I think about it has been focused on other people too. I just realized this now."
Viti sighed again then ran up to try and hug professor Shulk.
"Thank you so much. Everything makes mores sense now."
no subject
"Ah...you're welcome. Feel free to let me know when you need anything."
Was this how it felt to be a teacher? Yes, definitely very satisfying.
