Hello everyone, I hope you've all settled in nicely. Now even though I'm sure a few of you have already seen me on the network, all dripping wet and swearing like a sailor, I though it could be a good idea to introduce myself in a more formal manner.
[Yuui's sitting crossed legged on his bed with a black havenese mix breed in his lap, and smiling fondly into the camera. His voice is warm and smooth, and all in all rather pleasant to listen to.]
My name is Yuui Flourite and I'm going to be your teacher in home economics and power control, which means I will probably be seeing most of you at some point or another. Since this means that we have two teachers going by the name of Flourite this year it would probably be for the best if we simply skip the formalities and everyone can just call me Yuui. Less confusing that way. Besides, being referred to by my last name like this is making me feel so old. [There's the briefest pout before he's back to smiling again.]
Hm, since I'll be working here as an X-man as well I suppose you could also refer to me by code name if you happen to feel like it. [His smile grows a little bit wider.] But you're going to have to figure out what it is first.
Let's see, I think that's about it. If you ever need anything, have any questions or just want to talk or... something, you can always come by my office. My door, and windows, are always open. Also I have cookies.

Oh, and if there's anything in particular you'd like to try just let me know. I'm not going to make any promises but I do aim to please.

I'm pretty sure that can be arranged, even without the servitude. I'll make a note of it.

Ah, hello, I'm Alric Caelegart, a new student. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.. ah... Mr. Yuui. [A bit oddly informal, but he did seem to insist...] I imagine we'll be meeting in person, as well. As.. ah.. refining control over my.. abilities is much of my reason for coming to the Institute, I look forward to your tutelage.
Hello Alric. It's very nice meeting you, and I look forward to seeing you in class as well. I hope you've been able to settle in nicely here? [The Institute could be a bit overwhelming once you first arrived and he still remembers his first days at the school with fond horror.]
If you don't mind, what would your ability be? [He probably has it on file somewhere but if possible he much prefers the personal approach.] Oh, and you're free to drop the mister if you'd like. I'm not going to insist on it or anything but I thought I should mention the option.
[He holds up a finger, and bright arcs of light crackle up along it as a purplish aura forms, and then condenses with a flash into a ping-pong ball sized sphere of sparkling purple light.]
I've learned to control its shape, although it... takes a bit of concentration to form it into anything complicated. Even putting corners on it's a bit tricky, but I've made plenty of spheres and rods. I can compress it, as well--make it explosive--or form a directional jet. I've cut steel with it, and I can break a fall... I can certainly produce enough thrust for flight, with them, but I'm not sure I've got enough control, yet...
[He smiles a bit sheepishly, as though he's probably tried it and it didn't end in a particular dignified manner.]

Yep. WIth code names and special costumes and everything.
Thinking about possibly joining the X-men after graduation?

They said that I'm going to have a lot of private sessions with you, and to contact you as soon possible, so I guess that's what I'm doing now.
video
You thought I was...? [If he had to guess he would probably go with 'asian' or 'japanese' since that's the most common reaction to his name, if there is one at all. Though, considering the context, 'older' comes a close second.
Too bad it is none of those things.]And I'm sure you're not the only one. [He smiles reassuringly.] Hm, you're Souji Okita, am I right?
video
[He laughs, shrugging lightly, not seeming very flustered by the situation at least. Although there is a small shift in his expression as his name is mentioned, and he looks just a fraction more wary, and sighs softly.]
I am. I suppose you have already been informed of my situation.
video
Ah, I'm guessing that it's a feminine name in... japanese, if I remember correctly? [He shakes his head, clearly much more amused than offended.] Honestly I don't know what our parents were thinking.
[He hesitates a bit, his face softening.]
I have yes. And, um, I used to be a student here myself so I- I confess I recognized you as well.
video
[His smile doesn't falter at Yuui's next words, it just grows a bit more resigned. He's going to have to get used to this.]
I see. But I'm guessing you didn't know me- him- me that well, then? [Let's just pretend that moment of insecurity didn't happen. Even if he's kind of terrible at it.]
[Oh, look, it's that thing again. That thing where someone he knew is suddenly much older and it's supposed to be totally normal??
Only there're bonus points this time because, last he recalls, Yuui'd been on Principal Summers' trainee squad alongside him. He can't say they'd ever gotten much chance to bond in between the lectures and the Danger Room beatings Cyclops had dished out, but that doesn't make flicking on his laptop and seeing the guy twenty-something and a fully-fledged X-Man any less weird.
Hopefully that'll excuse the somewhat drawn silence, before he finds something to say:]
Toushirou already told me Fai was teaching here, now. I should have figured the two of you would be doing that together...[Apparently, first day back was too hectic for him to catch the whole Ice Bucket deal.] Home Economics?
[It's not clear whether he's asking what that actually entails or expressing surprise that it's the subject Yuui ended up teaching. A little of both, probably.]
[It's not news to him that those who had been in stasis are awake and fine now but there's a difference between knowing and seeing it with his own eyes. Shindou looks just the same, of course he does, and it makes it a bit hard to breathe.]
It's- It's good to see you.
[He smiles, genuinely if bit shakily, and fiddles with his hair, just like he used to do when he was feeling a bit nervous.]
Yeah, not really what you would have pictured, is it? But coming back here felt right, I guess, and only teaching cooking classes didn't really seem like enough and music felt like too much of a risk and I've always enjoyed being versatile so... home economics it was.
[He's not really sure if this actually answers anything but he's not quite sure how to stop babbling. Something else that hasn't changed much in the past five years.]
How are you?
no subject
[Well, not especially, but enough for Shindou to go on. He gives a few mute nods in the middle of Yuui's explanation, clasping his hands together.]
I'm fine. With classes going again, things are almost starting to feel normal.
[He cracks a brief smile, like that was supposed to be a particularly weak joke. But it's not even that, not really, and it fades fast enough:]
Ah, have...
Have you kept in touch with Principal Summers at all, since he left the school...? Or any of the others?

And do we learn to sew, I've always wanted to learn! I've always wanted to try some cosplay.
text
And yes, sewing is quite a big part of it. Is there anything in particular you would like to learn how to make?
text
Meowbe a dress? I want to cosplay Marine Zeus someday but that's probably a bit too advanced for a beginner and all (=^-ω-^=)!
text
And I'll do my best to keep that in mind for class.
Maybe not as your first project but I'm sure it could be made possible in a term or two.
You know, me and my brother dressed up as Marine Artemis and Aphrodite for halloween one of our years here. I'm glad to see it's still popular.
Re: text
And I know! It's more of a dream than something I think I could do right away after all! Start simple right?
((late, sorry, is this OK?)) Video:
So, uh ... what sorta things d'you cover in your class...es?
((Always)) Video:
In power control there are going to be some more theoretical classes covering ways of dealing with stressful situations which might cause you to lose control, breathing and meditation excursuses, what to do if you notice someone around you having problems and how you handle the aftermath of having lost control. Along with more practical classes in smaller groups or alone, where we'll both be working on both control and possible power development in a controlled environment which will be tailored as much as possible after everyones specific needs.
Did that answer what you wanted to know?

[And he definitely wasn't any good at hiding the smile at the sewing bit. Yes, he was right!]
