What a terrible shock we've all been through... I'm so glad that everyone came out of it alright!

[She seems a little bit choked up for a moment, then takes a few deep breaths and continues.]

I... I wanted to thank everyone who was interested in the idea of a community outreach club. I'm sure you saw just recently on the network that we're planning to have the club be affiliated with a similar X-team. To get things started... I thought we might visit the homeless shelter here in town this weekend. They're planting a vegetable garden, now that the spring's started, and could use some extra hands with that as well as the usual work...

[Yep, he totally just said that. His smirk was almost proud.]

[Krista blinks at him, confused.]

"...Never mind. It's fine."

[He didn't know if he was more pleased that she didn't see him as trying, or that he was upset she missed his pun.]

[That little hint of disappointment did show, and Krista smiled apologetically.]

I'm sorry. I think I missed something...

"Bad joke," [he said. Of course, bad jokes were the best jokes. So... yeah.]

"Don't worry about it."

[martyrerkomplex]

You joke around a lot, don't you?

"Yep," [he sounded so proud.] "It's what makes me so much fun to be around."

[martyrerkomplex]

It's nice. You're always putting a smile on people's faces.

[gregorydeegan]

"Well... thank you for that. My father says that music and happiness can heal as well as medicines, when properly applied."

That's quite a gift!

"I made sure to burn the receipt."

[martyrerkomplex]

[She takes a moment to get it, but she does laugh once she puts it together.]

[He grins at her, pleased.]

Really, though -- it must be nice. It's nice to have you around, lifting everyone's spirits.

[When in doubt, make people feel good about themselves. It seems to be working for her so far...]

"So...." [grin] "you want me to fly their drinks and ghosts around?"

[martyrerkomplex]

...That one was a bit of a stretch.

[She does smile at it, though. But really, he can't seem to let a single opportunity for it go by, can he?]

[He raised his arms over his head and lifted his hands as high as he could.]

"And so was that."

[martyrerkomplex]

[...All right, that one gets another laugh out of her.]

[gregorydeegan]

[He grinned brightly.... then looked a bit sheepish.] "Ah... what were we talking about, again?"

I can't quite remember, myself.

[gregorydeegan]

[He chuckled.] "We should hang sometime."

[Take the bait take the bait take the bait.... Yes he is just dying to say "gallows humor"]

You mean, besides at club activities?

[gregorydeegan]

[A soft sigh at opportunities wasted.]

"Yeah. You know, just for fun, as friends."

I'd be happy to!

[She hopes that didn't sound too enthusiastic, or not enthusiastic enough...]

"Wonderful!" [he said, genuinely meaning it. I can't wait!]
