What a terrible shock we've all been through... I'm so glad that everyone came out of it alright!

[She seems a little bit choked up for a moment, then takes a few deep breaths and continues.]

I... I wanted to thank everyone who was interested in the idea of a community outreach club. I'm sure you saw just recently on the network that we're planning to have the club be affiliated with a similar X-team. To get things started... I thought we might visit the homeless shelter here in town this weekend. They're planting a vegetable garden, now that the spring's started, and could use some extra hands with that as well as the usual work...

...That one was a bit of a stretch.

[She does smile at it, though. But really, he can't seem to let a single opportunity for it go by, can he?]

[He raised his arms over his head and lifted his hands as high as he could.]

"And so was that."

[...All right, that one gets another laugh out of her.]

[He grinned brightly.... then looked a bit sheepish.] "Ah... what were we talking about, again?"

I can't quite remember, myself.

[gregorydeegan]

[He chuckled.] "We should hang sometime."

[Take the bait take the bait take the bait.... Yes he is just dying to say "gallows humor"]

You mean, besides at club activities?

[gregorydeegan]

[A soft sigh at opportunities wasted.]

"Yeah. You know, just for fun, as friends."

[martyrerkomplex]

I'd be happy to!

[She hopes that didn't sound too enthusiastic, or not enthusiastic enough...]

"Wonderful!" [he said, genuinely meaning it. I can't wait!]

What do you usually like to do for fun?

[gregorydeegan]

"Music. Performing or listening, I love both. Theater, watching only though. Movies. Again, watching only. Flying, because that's just fun. Pretty much anything, really, except laying around being boring like my brother."

[He grinned.]

"How about you?"

[martyrerkomplex]

[She ought to have seen that coming, and had something prepared. What does she like to do...?]

Sometimes I read, or watch TV. I... like going out for walks in nature, and sometimes listening to music or singing?

"So, the choices seem to be, TV, walks in nature, listening to music, and performing music. Yes?"

[martyrerkomplex]

That sounds good to me.

[gregorydeegan]

[He laughed.]

"So... all of them? At once?"

[martyrerkomplex]

[She laughs, too.]

I didn't mean that!

[gregorydeegan]

[He laughed.]

"Could have been quite the challenge."

[Another laugh.]

"So, what first?"

Oh, I think any of it would be fine...

[gregorydeegan]

"So, maybe music then? We could have a pick up concert on the street, give all the money we earn to charity. Grab a bite after?"

[martyrerkomplex]

I don't know that many songs. Could you teach me?

[gregorydeegan]

"Sure! I would love to! I could teach you some of Dad's as well as some of the ones from around here."

[Because while he was sure his dad would already love her, but if she started singing Kelsheen Mark songs in front of him.... Oh yeah. That would... well... rock.]

Then... I think I'd really enjoy that!
