Ugh, who cares about Valentine's Day?!

[...Apparently, Rin is sick of the Valentine's-related posts and has decided enough is enough. As the video starts, she immediately launches onto the offensive, her body language growing rather...energtic.]

Seriously, don't you people have anything better to worry about? I can glance at the news for two seconds and see story after story about how people want us rounded up and tagged like cattle, and you're sitting here prattling about dates! Am I the only one who sees how ridiculous this is?

Even if you and I are teenagers, I guess we're not the typical kind.

Everyone back home always went crazy for it too. They even tried to give me chocolates. [ Freaking Shimizu and her stupid obsession. ]

I wish Sotoba'd been like that. [ But nope, everyone always had to worry about each other, and gossip about every single person in the town, and just be generally super terrible at minding their own business.

It was terrible, to put it lightly. ]

Did you live in the big city? [ Since that's what he did before he moved there, and that was a hell of a lot more tolerable.. ]

Not at all. I lived out in the middle of a desert.

More or less. If there was work to be done in the area, we went to it.

I wonder how much work you even found in the desert. It's not exactly like a lot of people live around there to begin with.

[ Although it makes sense why they wouldn't really celebrate Valentine's Day there of all places.. must've been some nice peace and quiet out there - the one thing that Natsuno can admire about anything, honestly. ]

You'd be surprised. My parents had a job with an organization helping mutant refugees, so there wasn't ever a shortage of work that needed to be done.

.. mutant refugees must not be really into celebrating Valentine's Day, no. Maybe I'll move there too after I graduate.

[ Since it's not like he'll be able to go back to Sotoba even if he would want to do so to begin with.. ]

Don't treat it like a joke. [hmph!] The people there have to struggle just to survive. There are always shortages of food and medical supplies, and no one cares enough to make sure we have enough to give them.

I mean, just look at the stories about the people in District X that keep being on the news. It's crappy no matter where you go, circumstances-wise.
