[A relatively new face to the Institute, Grell's been stuck watching training videos about how to manage academic offices. It's been boring. So boring. Once the videos were over, though, the real work started and the new office lady(?) has realized something very important.]

To those in the student body who are organizing new clubs, first let me applaud you on your enthusiasm. Everyone should learn from your excellent example. Second, please allow me to remind you to turn in your bloody forms. I am not chasing you down because it's absolute murder on the legs to run in heels, and a lady should never be required to run anywhere that doesn't hold handsome rewards for her. If you force me to chase after you, you will not enjoy it. Are we clear? Wonderful. I expect tardy forms in by the end of the week.

As for the staff and faculty, please do me a pretty little favor, hm? I seem to have misplaced a bottle of polish - rose red - when watching one of your classes. If any of you have seen it, do be a dear and return it? I have a special reward to any handsome prince who brings it back to me.

[Which is to say, she left a bottle of polish in most male teachers' classrooms so she has a reason to talk to them all. Huehuehue.]

He never remembers names unless it is necessary or to his benefit. And there are so many kids, it's hard to tell them all apart. He knows his security club ones by sight, though, and he says "hi, kid" to them, which has to count for something.]

[He shakes his head.]

[But he sounds more like he's joking than actually complaining.]

[Though no, he would never wear nail polish. His manly fingernails are perfect as they are, as far as he's concerned.

He takes his time getting to Grell's office, because first he forgets where he put the nail polish, then he forgets where the office is, as finally, he stops for coffee. But he does get there!

He knocks on the doorframe facetiously.]

So, I heard someone in the vicinity lost some important personal possessions.

You should. All this paper will absolutely ruin my perfect hands.

[She signs off after that to wait.

And wait.

And good Lord, how long does it take to find a bottle of nail polish?? At least while she was waiting, she was able to finish parts of her work, filing away anything turned in by the "good" students and writing up those who had yet to join that list.

Grell has her long red hair tied back in a ponytail by the time Adachi arrives, a pencil behind one ear, and a look of utter disgust pointed at a particular file she has open. She glances up when she hears the voice and drops the file on her desk.]

Yes, it would seem I lost you somewhere in the past few hours.

Well... It takes a long time...

[Adachi pauses for effect, then empties his pockets.]

..to find all these bottles.

[Not that he found all of the ones she left lying around, not by any means—but he managed a few!]

You know, I take my job very seriously.

[Ha. Ha.]

You ought to be more careful with your personal property, Miss.

[Finally, his horrible, painful sensitivity training has paid off.]

[Good Lord. She takes a moment to count the bottles and does a mental tally of how many she left out. There are still a few hanging around, if she's accurately kept tabs.

Grell smiles, careful to make it a close-lipped one, and swipes a bottle from where it was dropped.]

I'm ever so glad to hear that someone in this school does. I wouldn't have lost so many, but I've been so flustered since coming here.

[She motions to a nearby chair with the hand holding the polish.]

Please, sit. It would be rude of me not to at least offer compensation.

[In actuality, he thought arriving with more of them would be funnier—after having spied two by chance while loafing around, he'd gone looking for more. He'd wasted a couple hours of his shift that way. What a good employee]

You can say that again. So many slackers around here, you can hardly walk down the hall without tripping over one.

Yeah, I know all about that, newcomer's nerves, right? But don't let it happen again, or people might think you're using it as an excuse to hit on guys. You wouldn't want that!

[Adachi hovers near the chair but doesn't sit right away.]

Oh, no, it's cool... It's my job, I don't need any reward. Just the pleasure of a job well done. [Now he's going to keep on pretending to be a good worker! Sort of. He's not that convincing. He pauses.] Unless it's something really good.
