Yo! I'm Zian, the new School Nurse, here to fix all your boo-boos and your sniffles. I just arrived Friday night and I'm still a bit turned around, but I know where the infirmary is so I'm at least easy to find!
I've been leaving some fliers for flu shots all over the school, but so far only a few people have signed up. I don't blame you, it kind of sucks to get a shot, but it would suck even more to get sick.
...seriously, I have like ten more boxes of sweet bribes for everyone, come get tortured and leave with a chocolate-dipped marshmallow ghost. (Don't tell your dentist.)

Oh, and my name's Kariya.
[He doesn't mention the shots, since he has his own doctors.]

It's nice to meet...or you know, talk, to you as well, Kariya. I've been setting in pretty well so far, so no worries!
[audio]
I'm sure we'll meet in person before long. The campus isn't that big.
I'm glad to hear that! It's a nice place to work. The students are a lot of fun.
[Text]
I'm pretty easy to spot, too, so I'm sure we will.
It's nice to hear that people like it here. I'm really looking forward to help the kids and the staff! It's pretty impressive to see just how well everyone is doing, considering how hard it can be to get used to mutant powers.
[audio]
Me too, well, a little, but not so much as some of the people here. We have such a diverse campus.
That's the best part about it, being able to help the kids, and make sure they feel supported in their environment. It's true, there've been surprisingly few incidents. I think that says a lot about how competent the faculty and staff are here.
[Text]
I've noticed! It makes me feel a little less like a sore thumb sticking out.
I have a lot of faith in the people here to help the kids. My parents were both mutants so I never really had any problems, but some of the kids here must have gone through some rough stuff.
[audio]
I'm glad. It can be hard, sticking out in public.
[Kariya's own physical differences aren't even mutation related, but his scarring is so extensive and strange that it makes people assume he is a mutant. He's sure there must be humans with medical conditions who go through that, too.
Please excuse Kariya as he pauses to ward off a painful parent-related flashback.]
My parents were both mutants, too. There are more people like us these days. [He changes the subject.] But yes, I work with a lot of the students who've had difficult pasts. It's sad to hear what they've been through, but they're very resilient, given the right help! They're amazing.

I've heard a lot of good thing about the school... and a few less good things, but seeing the kids around here I'm sure it's a good place. Any place that takes care of kids like this is.
So when can I see you here for shots and marshmallow ghost?
[audio]
Right, that's why I came to work here after getting my certification.
[Well, and a lot of people won't hire a counselor who looks like he does, especially as he's a mutant. But this was his first choice, anyway.]
Oh. Well, yes, some people have negative things to say about anything, and I suppose nowhere is perfect.
I don't want to be any trouble. I'm sure you have a lot to do with the kids, and settling in. I can just go into town.
[Text]
...and hey, it's the opposite of trouble! Not only do I get to meet new people, I get to make sure the medical files are correct AND make sure that we have a nice herd immunity here at campus. It would really be more of a bother if you didn't show up. Um, no offense.
[Audio]
[He hadn't been told many things about the family, being something of a black sheep.]
All right, then. If you put it like that, then I'll have to come by. Herd immunity is important. Though I do always get my flu shot, I promise.
[He's weak and doesn't want to take any chances.]

I've made some herbal tea from the garden plants, if you'd be interested.

I'm afraid I can't drink tea though =( I just like offering some to friends!
