First Verse - Video
*Someone is clearly using a properly mounted camera for this, she quickly messes with her hair as the video opens before she steps back. She's wearing a big old school pair of headphones over her ears and is looking not angry, but in a general state of teenage annoyance with all things that exist.*
Hi, I'm Maya. One of the fun students who started five years ago but ended up a Lost Boy instead of growing up. I've got this weird idea I won't get spoiled for all the stuff I used to watch but given my powers that isn't really happening. Which I will just sum up with this. Yes, I can hear you, please don't yell. No, I'm not being anti-social with these headphones on. I'm not sorry if I sneak up on you, I haven't figured out how to stop canceling out my own footsteps when I move around campus, and I don't care.
Anyway, with the whole club week thing going on... I was wondering who all has some skills at music, kinda hoping to get a band together. Not like a band club, or a glee club, but like an actual band with a cool name, and gigs, and eventually groupies and tabloids talking about stints in rehab.
*Musicians and rehab are a timeless thing and a safe non-dated reference to make.*
Otherwise I might have something else club-like in the works, but I need to talk to one of the teacher's first. One of the teachers I actually respect as an adult, and I didn't go to school with.
*So. Very. Jaded.*
Locked to Hank McCoy - Voice
*Look at how Maya isn't just contacting him via her powers and is actually sending a message through the school's intranet? See how totally responsible and less surprising this is?*
Dr. McCoy, I was told to talk to you if I wanted to take up my old post of trying to coordinate students during crisis situations and helping to keep track of intruders and attacks and other stuff you can try to convince me won't happen when you've got a school buzzing with security systems.
Cause I would, not that all the electronics aren't neat, they just don't always yield the best results. *Translation: Everything that happened her last school year.*

[Alric smiles, as usual, all formal yet amiable.]
I might have mentioned before that I've played a bit... mostly guitar, if that would be of any use. I've something of a fondness for...... I suppose what one might call 'rock-classical fusion'?
[He says it a bit skeptically, in a playful tone, as though maybe it's a bit too hip and Art Critic Nonsense Talk to be what anyone would really ever call it.]
That is to say, employing arrangement and notions of composition from both genres. Well, I don't doubt you're familiar with the concept. Of course, I don't know what you would have in mind for such a band, but if you should be interested.

I really just want something to keep me from getting too bored, I mean if we make something that works we can look for a tour bus and roadies, but I'm pretty sure the moment we do that a giant robot or Godzilla will crush our bus and we'll be out on the deposit.

I suppose you're right, though. Best we keep up the combat training, as well, just in case. Perhaps we should name the band 'Giant Robot Attack,' in order to turn the inevitable catastrophe around as publicity.

Combat training was mostly a miss for me, my friend helped tutor me and that really... worked. -*She still signs her name with overly flourished music notes because of his stupid ego*- But that'll definitely go on the short-list, probably with 'Lost Deposit.'

I do have a concern, however, that I might "cramp the band's style," as they say. I've certain responsibilities, after all, including sustaining a certain level of decorum.

I'm fifteen, I'm not legally allowed to do anything fun yet. Your decorum is perfectly safe. I don't plan to write any deathmetal hate songs and trash any hotel rooms.

It's an honor and a pleasure to be of service. Particularly to someone who--if it's not too bold, on my part--I'd like to consider a friend.
