[Liir sounds weak but undaunted.]

It took its time but I finally caught the bug. Incidentally, if someone can bring me a hair or other tissue sample from one of the index cases, I may be able to help...

Also, Gene Nation, we're not slacking. If any of us fall ill, we're to study the classics of strategy and mutant liberation and run simulations of future battles on our laptops.

I confess that I'm stumped. You want me to imitate a venomous animal? If you were under the impression that I'm intelligent or capable of saving us from this, I'll have to disabuse you.

"Before I say anything else, I have to warn you about my power. If we talk for more than five minutes, my power might start getting secrets about you. It's not as though I want it to, but I have limited control. Zancrow has seen this first hand."

"I can say this much though. I've spent a whole month making a plan to fight this disease, in case Dr. McCoy failed, and I was hopping you could be a part of it. I never expected you to do anything alone, least of all now that you're sick. Instead, I wanted to put a whole team together to fight this disease. Truth be told, I haven't made much progress on this team. No one wants to listen to a 13 year old kid like me, you see?"

"You are right about the venom thing though. Most of our anti-viral drugs are derived from venoms and enzymes from animals living on coral reefs. Even Bee venom has shown great promise for fighting viruses like HIV, albeit only in "proof of concept" studies. You must be too sick for that now though."

"The only thing I can think to do is to ask Dr. McCoy about the temperature sensitivity of the virus Some virus such as HIV and rabies, can only infect mammals due to their extreme sensitivity to temperature. If such is the case with this virus, then you might be able to save yourself if you can just find the strength to change into an animal that can withstand extreme variations in body temperature."

When the text was sent, Viti shook his hands. His thumbs were very tired. He hated texting.

I just sent an e-mail to Dr. McCoy. Unfortunately, we just have to wait for him to respond.

In the mean time I am on my way to the pet store to get a lizard.

Gotta ask though, when you were in District X did you find out of if any animal carried the virus?

I am pretty sure this virus was cooked up in a lab. Even if this thing popped up in District X it seems odd that this virus has not spread outside the mutant population. Though it would be possible for the virus to evolve to latch on to the X-gene naturally it is incredibly improbable. It would be like a lake freezing in summer, within the laws of physics but so unlikely you discount it.

Anyways I will get back to you when I have more information from Dr. McCoy. Talk to you soon.

(ooc: Next time Viti contacts, assume some time has gone by, as he's waiting for the good doctor to get back to him.)

I'm sorry. But I received word that the virus is resistant to extreme temperatures. My plan flat out failed.

I also do not have an index case.

I'm sorry. For everything.

I still say that setting the fuckers on fire is the best strategy. You look like shit, by the way. [Translation; I'm glad you're awake]

[Then, quietly]

Did you get any of my hair stuck to you?

It's not that I'm afraid of you blabbing them, it's more of they're not nice. Didn't want you having a heart attack over them.

Sun Tzu is boring.

Viti was in the basement of the pest store when he decided to check his smart phone to see if Liir got back to him. He learns of this conversation, and sends Zancrow a quick text.

"The art of war has a whole section dedicated to the use of fire in war." Viti sends the message, and then puts his phone back in his pocket to contiue examineing the lizards in their tanks.

(ooc. Kingofwrath let me to do that. Viti out)

Yeah, well, just making sure.

Viti just sent me a text that this dude has a section on fire, so I'll check that out.

[The idea certainly suits his melancholy temperament, she thinks. But he's not really likable or innocent enough to make a good martyr, is he?]

Please don't say a thing like that. We have to try our best to get better, right?
martyrerkomplex: (I don't care what they think)

[personal profile] martyrerkomplex 2015-08-13 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Why do you think that?
martyrerkomplex: (Come to my window - I'll be home soon)

A friend of yours?

[The name sounds a little familiar, but she can't quite place why. She probably will google it later on, if only because being bedridden is a fast road to "bored enough".]

That's a very hopeful thought, anyway. I'll try to hold onto it :)
