Congratulations to everyone who participated in the election -- I was kind of surprised about the result, but I'm really grateful to the people who voted for me. Thank you for your faith in me -- I'll try my hardest not to let you down! And to the rest of the student government, I'm looking forward to working with you.

[She looks a little bit nervous for a moment, but pushes forward:]

I've been meaning to ask, is there anyone who wouldn't mind me praticing my power on them? It's just that I want to be able to use it to help people, and I'd hate to use it on anyone without their knowledge...

"Nope! But I'll know soon!"

[Greg grinned at her.]

[Krista gives him a worried look. Honestly, Greg?]

[He sees the look and grins a bit.]

"I may not know your power, but I know you. I trust you."

[She's pretty sure most people aren't fans of having their feelings rearranged for practice.]

"What's with that sad face?"

[He grinned.]

"Okay, you know what, why don't you rip the band-aid off fast, tell me what your power is, then you can stop fretting over my not knowing it and asking if I'm sure."

[martyrerkomplex]

[She looked away from the camera, clearly uncomfortable.]

...I can affect people's emotions. Memories, too.

"Cool!" [He said brightly.]

"Or warm if you're making someone flush, I suppose. But that sounds incredibly useful! Have you considered a career in medicine?"

"In medicine?"

[She wonders where that leap came from. Privately, deep down, she's sure she's not smart enough for anything like that, but then, it would let her help people. Who was more admired than doctors?]

[gregorydeegan]

[He nodded.]

"Yeah! If you can affect the pain they're in, calm them if they're too angry to let the doctors help them, temporally suppress the memory of their injury so their body can heal? You could have lots of lives!"

"I never really thought about doing something like that with it..."

[She regrets saying that, when it's out of her mouth. It's the kind of thing that Krista the Good Girl should think about, and it seems so obvious now.]

[gregorydeegan]

[He grins.]

"I never thought of my music as healing to anyone but me before. It took my dad to explain it in a way that made sense. He taught me that I can do good for people, power or now power, by lifting their spirits. So this is just an extension off dad's idea."
