-First week of classes are under way. Some people have already come across Reimu assisting various training courses. He doesn't seem to do much of anything but sit on the sidelines and eat and be a human shield when needed. But he has a few things to say, regardless.-
This just goes out to all the new children of the atom who are chomping at the bit to get into training to start becoming the new generation of heroes. -What was with that word choice...-
You all have your reasons for doing this. When I was your age, it was almost out of a sense of obligation. You see, my mother was the Hakurei Miko, and some of you Japanese students may have heard of her. I felt like it was a huge responsibility I needed to fulfill, to become worthy as her successor and fight alongside the X-Men just like she had before I was born...
Well. That didn't work out from me. I was cut from my team, demoted, and forced to start over again from scratch. To find a motivation that wasn't set in doing something just because I felt like I was supposed to. To find my own identity and reasons for fighting.
My advice to people who are still uncertain about things... Find something out there you want to protect. And think long and hard about what you're willing to do in order to protect it.
Kannushi out. -And he ends the feed.-
[[ ooc: Since this is a repeat of his test drive post, you can assume the old threads already happened and bring up new responses if you wish. ]]

I heard about that. Terrifying in its implications.

That, um... sounds like a lot of pressure to put on yourself.
[Kaguya was still uncertain, she'd pretty much just started here, after all.]

All that on top of being a mutant...

Hmm... Would you like to tell me about them?

Since the end of the Edo period, it has been believed my family line were all mutants. We had supernatural powers that were, at the time, attributed to divinity. Since we were caretakers of a shrine, it made sense, I guess. Anyways, that's when the first mentions of the Hakurei Miko as a hero figure came about. We remained neutral during the Meiji Revolution, and in the Taisho Era, more westernized science came about and people wanted to study just how our powers work. It was some of the first research on mutants conducted in Japan.
... Which, of course, was probably why the government tried to consign my great grandfather into fighting during WWII. He refused, and things have been a little tense between my family and the diet ever since. We refuse to register, unlike a lot of the other Japanese heroes.

It's far from perfect, but all considering? Well done, Reimu.
I only ask that you promise me you'll never say "children of the atom chomping at the bit" ever again.
