[This is a weird one. People have definitely seen this girl around campus, for sure, but you ever get the impression there's just something... off? About her whole existence? Like she's not really there, just in your head? It doesn't help that the 'room' she's broadcasting from doesn't seem to exist in the whole campus...]

So I've been watching a lot of news lately... it was hard to watch news when I was with John, because he never really let us watch TV, and...

I have to admit, I'm afraid. I'm not really afraid of registering, I mean... Pretty much anyone can tell I'm a mutant. I can't really go out in public like normal people do. [But she looks normal? Weird feelings when you look at her too long aside.] But it's kind of about this Mutant Liberation Front and, you know... like... Ugh, this is hard to put into words.

What would happen if that war everyone's worried about happening won't be between the US and Genosha but... more like a civil war right here? Between mutants and humans.

[It's starting to feel more and more real every day.]

A psuedo-ethnic conflict, slash revolution, slash long simmering low intensity war, assuming they don't exterminate us or round us all into camps in the first few months.

Well we're not like, you know... the Jews in Central Europe or the ethnic minorities in former Yugoslavia. We have super powers. It would get ugly, fast. Not long simmering, we're talking immediate escalation.

Ah, but we can't fight a conventional conflict and expect to win. So if the Mutant Question reaches that point, it'll be a guerilla-terrorist one.

Which would probably be the worst for those of us who can't conceal what we are.

I dunno. The next Magneto or Phoenix could be out there. Someone capable of fighting the whole army on their own if they wanted to.

Magneto's power is as much in his charisma as his powers. I'm sure the feds could develop some sort of all-plastic wearing elite unit to take him down, but the mutants he commands the loyalty of would never allow it.
