I never had a fancy phone before coming to the school. It's kind of neat how connected it makes me feel. I can read stuff, hear stuff, see stuff, kind of catch a glimpse into the lives of people around me.

It's kind of like what I used to do anyways, just watching life from the outside looking in...

A-anyways, most people call me 'Shadow'. -'Kagerou; was the name her mother gave her... it didn't feel right having strangers use it.- I just got here a few days ago... It's nice to meet everyone...

Shadow is a codename, right? [She sounds Japanese, so he assumes as much. Wait, is he racist? Do Japanese families really name their kids after English words, like in his manga? He doesn't think so, but outside of his comic books he knows pretty much nothing about Japan.]

Do you turn into shadow? Teleport through darkness? Hijack people's shadows and make them do stuff? Go invisible--oh! Except you still leave a shadow behind? Ummm. Astral project yourself, except a dark, spooky version?

...Make really good shadow puppets? Throw me a bone here!

[He can fix this! Beast Boy switches to video and points at his goofy face.]

Green! Plus, my buddy's a big turtle-man-ninja, I know a guy who looks like some kind of robot, and one of the teachers howls on full moons, if you get what I'm saying. Plus I'm pretty sure the swim coach has gills. How much worse could it be?

-Okay she's... trying to calm down, sniffling. She thought he was being cruel, but... turns out he might just be painfully earnest. And...-

[Well. He was having fun bugging her, but she wasn't supposed to be so darn sensitive about it!]

Mm-hmm! Plus, like, 'ees 'eeth [He points out his inhumanly pointy teeth as he talks] and these ears!

[He wiggles them for her.]

-There's awhile before her next response, but eventually, she turns on the video too. At first, there's nothing really unusual about her that stands out. But as she lifts her hand to pull the hood she was wearing back, there's obvious fur on the back of her hand and wrist.

And once the hood was pulled down, two wolf-like ears popped out, also twitching (mostly because she kept them under a hood all day). She also smiled, showing off her own vicious looking fangs.-

I guess... you won't make fun of me, then.
