Got a plurk account. I will pm you about it.

Viti growled. He opened his mouth to say something, but realized it wouldn't have made sense. He got up and walked to the window. He peeled back the curtain. He looked outside and when he looked far enough he could see two children, possibly younger than him, playing with a ball. His eyes were dead set on the scene, as he looked on at them with envy at how they moved, so fast, so free, and joyfully yelling so loud that half the neighborhood could hear them. One child shot the ball into the air with his mind.

"Everyone admires the pain a hero goes through for everyone else. Well they should. I appreciate it."

At that second, in the far distance, a child teiliported in front of the ball in the air, to catch it. She thrust her fist up and cheered when she did so.

"But not being the hero comes with a pain all it's own. To not be able to do anything for the people around you, to be ineffective when your world is collapsing. To be helpless..."

Viti turned away from the window and faced the camera.

"To be useless. To be disa...dis" Viti couldn't say it, but anyone who looked at Viti and Gregory through the cam would have saw the crack in the lens appear to cut through Viti's head, and bisect Gregory's leg.

Far in the distance, the ball bounced on the ground. The teliportaing girl failed to catch it that time.

Viti slumped back in his chair.

"I won't go on this mission. But I have to ask about my powers. Do you know enough about the human body and healing to have an idea why my powers might be causing me pain? I've had this power since I was born, and why does it suddenly hurt now that arrived at the institute, the worst possible time?"
