1st Full Moon [Video]

[Looks like someone decided to post something on the Institute's intranet again. What we get is the image of a girl of Japanese decent smiling a little, satisfied that she's properly connected to the network.]

Hi, I'm Kaguya Houraisan, in case you've missed me the first time around.

[Someone's very new to a place like this, away from home like this, but she's getting used to it.]

Anyway, I see a lot of clubs being set up, but no mention of a video game club or maybe something to do with bonsai, so I'm wondering if there's any interest in any of these. Enough for even just a small one.

Perhaps something more... cultural club given there quite a few of us from all over.

Ah, I suppose I'd like to know how feasible any of this is.

Twelfth grader here, not quite a superhero or anything. But, I suppose we'll see about the superhero bit later...

[She smiles a bit.] Have to say, you don't seem bothered about me being a gamer... That puts you above most guys already.

A pleasure to make your acquaintance, Miss Houraisan. I'm Alric Caelegart. I fear I can't claim to be a video game expert of any stripe, but I am certainly curious what you had in mind for a club dedicated to the subject.

Also, depending on your ideas for a culture club, you might do well to speak with Elsa Haraldsen about her Foreign Students' Union. I suspect you might be thinking of quite similar--or, at least, complementary--projects.

It's not so much nationalities, but cultural backgrounds. I mean, I'm a daughter of immigrants, myself.

Mm, I understand... at the very least, I imagine two such clubs would have plenty of opportunities to undertake joint ventures.

Your family is from Japan, I presume? Please, pardon the peculiar question, and feel free not to answer if I'm prying excessively... but, as a... foreigner, myself, with an interest in foreign relations, what brought your family to America, in particular?

yeah, they came here years ago, not long before I was born, because of the economy.

Ahh, I see. What, ah... as they say, are you 'in for'?

I have a healing factor... I don't think it's as impressive as Mr Logan's, but I'm pretty sure it's saved my life at least once.

Indeed... I gather competing with Mr. Logan in that respect would be... exceptional, to say the least. Still, the value of such a talent is obvious, I believe.

If I may ask - what kinds of activities would you propose for a video game club? Just playing and kibitzing around in and of itself hardly needs a formal club - in fact, it could be detrimental to it. Design analysis, discussions of the culture, and possibly organizing events for the student body beyond the club, on the other hand, are all things that could fit.

Basically, enough things to reasonably convince Principal Munroe that there's at least some intellectual purpose going on here to justify a teacher sueprvisor's time and the ability to prep a room.

I'm not completely sure, but I thought something like events or the culture maybe? This is, ah, not something I have much experience with...

Well, how are you going to build experience without an attempt, right?

I'd sure hope so, with how popular the medium is these days.

Maybe I've just not reached enough people...

I'd hope that's the problem. If this student body was unenthused about video games, I'd have to reevaluate my career decisions.
